As mentioned under the previous strip, this comic ran on Day 2 of online voting, which helps drum up votes but doesn't make for very funny jokes.
Election 2001 outcome: Gordon and Hale each got 200+ write-in votes, not nearly enough to win but still an impressive showing (and enough to make one candidate lose by around 50 votes—ha ha!).
