One of my all-time favorites, this strip incorporates some of the best things I too-rarely do in Blue Rice (e.g. use three characters instead of two, use more than 4 panels). I really tried to make the first two fortunes accurate in retrospect…though until you get to the punchline, you don’t realize it.
This was also a big plot-driving and character-building strip: after it ran, Gordon was actually absent from Blue Rice for months, and when he returned he started getting less innocent and naïve, and more sarcastic and loud. Kinda makes you wonder what happened to him at that restaurant...
