This was the first strip of 2001: beginning of a new semester and (some would say) a new millennium. Everyone knows panel 3 is taken from Back To The Future. Less known is that panel 2 is taken from the Simpsons episode when Homer's new boss is a Bond villain named Hank Scorpio; Scorpio asks Homer "what's your least favorite country, Italy or France?" and when Homer says "France," Scorpio adjusts a giant laser and says "Heh heh heh...nobody ever says Italy." Best. Episode. Ever.
